How to install Lightwave

If you want to install Lightwave from the files I gave you follow these steps:

1.- Install Daemon Tools.

Visit this page and click on Download
http://www.disc-tools.com/download/daemon

Once you've downloaded the file, run it. You have a nice installation guide here:
http://wiki.wsu.edu/ctowiki/Installing_and_Using_Daemon_Tools

2.- Mount the Lightwave image. (the lightwave_seven.iso file)

If the installation doesn't start authomatically enter the folder "Install_Lightwave" and double click on "setup.exe". After a few screens you'll get to a screen where you can choose the kind of installation you want, typical, minimal, or custom. Choose the custom install and check all boxes.

3.- Update Lightwave

In the Lightwave folder you'll find a folder called "LW75bUpdate". Inside it, there is a file called "LightWave75b.exe". Double click on the file to run it and it will update Lightwave to the 7.5 version.

4.- Apply the patch

Inside the "LW75bUpdate" folder there is a folder called "LightWave3D_v7.5b crack". Enter the folder and move the "LightWave3D_7.5b_WebUpdate_crack.exe" file to the "Programs" folder in your Lightwave install folder (if you haven't changed it, it'll probably be "C:\LightWave_3D_7.0", so you should have to move it to the "C:\LightWave_3D_7.0\Programs" folder). Once there, double click on "LightWave3D_7.5b_WebUpdate_crack.exe", and in the window opened click on "Apply Patch"

And that should be it. If you have any problems don't be afraid to ask questions.

Some Ideas

Hi guys, here is one idea I had for the channel logo. A dice is thrown toward the camera, it stops just in front of it, the bottom-right tile flashes and turns red, then we see the rest of the letters:

This design is much more classical but it would also be more practical:

And for the tv show, this is an idea I had (don't pay attention to the horrible camera work or the colours). Instead of red squares (they are just placeholders) , we would be briefly passing through fragments of each of the main activities the show is reviewing on that day:

The idea is to repeat that with each of the fragments, moving the camera towards them and focusing on them for a second before continuing forward while we drag them along, still partially visible. After we've seen 3 or 4 of them they speep up, the camera moves away from the stream of videos (there would be lots of screens on the background and most of them would get dragged into the flow) and we see them heading towards the ground, where they join to build the title of the show:

Any thoughts?

All the videos were made with after effects, in case you are wondering.

By the way, I've changed a bit the blog format. Now the post section is much wider so we can upload videos in most sizes without worrying about blocking the sidebar.

First post, just a test

This is the blog for the 3d animation:maya & lightwave course in KCC.

As soon as we get started we can change the design to something more appealing.
